Thank you for trusting us to
repair your vehicle!

As self-confessed car enthusiasts, we know firsthand that your car is not only a valuable asset, but also your lifeline.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a parent needing to do the school run, an apprentice needing to commute to TAFE or someone who simply needs to be able to feed their cows efficiently, we’re here to help get you back on the move.

Car accidents can be frustrating enough, which is why we’ve provided the below information to make your experience with LSR enjoyable and easy.

What do I need to do before my estimation and my repair?

In an effort to make your estimation accurate and your repair go quickly and smoothly, we need you to action this checklist. (Don’t worry – there are only three things!)

1. Wash your car - For estimation & repair

In order for us to capture all necessary damage (so that we can have your car looking shiny and new), it’s important that you deliver a clean car at both appointments.

While you don’t need to bust out the wax, we do need you to make sure that it’s not blanketed in dirt or wearing a bird poo jacket.

2. Remove all personal items - For repair

We’re talking car seats, booster seats, pet restraints, backpacks, boxes, toolboxes, and whatever else makes your car feel like home.

Please Note: If car seats are left in the car and they need to be removed during the repair process, LSR is not authorised to re-fit children’s car seats. We recommend that a certified restraint installer fit these once you collect your repaired car.

3. Turn off after-market devices - For repair

This includes in-car cameras, dash cams and ignition interlock devices.

If your car has an ignition interlock device and/or breathalyser, it will need to be safely and legally disabled before we can properly do the repair.

FAQ's

What happens at the estimation appointment?

The best way for us to determine what type of magic we need to work is by spending 20 minutes examining your vehicle and snapping five pictures. During this time, we will talk you through everything we find including accident-related and pre-existing damage.

What will happen when I drop my car off for the repair?

Since we’re the type of people who like to get on the same page as our customers from the get-go, please allow 15 minutes for us to conduct our receiving inspection with you.

During the receiving inspection, we will mark up all the damage on your vehicle with a special marker. (Don’t panic – it totally comes off and will be fully removed when you get your vehicle back.) It’s at this point that we will verbalise exactly what will and will not be repaired.

Will you fix my pre-existing damage?

Because most customers like to get all of their panel work done at one time, we are more than happy to fix pre-existing damage at your vehicle’s repair. Unfortunately, this is not covered by insurers and will come at a personal cost.

Ever wondered why even your new car’s paint colour looks slightly different depending on the panel?

That’s because paint sometimes appears a different colour based on the type of underlying material. For example, a plastic bumper will have a slight variation to other parts of the car constructed from metal.

When it comes to repairing older cars, you may notice a slight variation due to the natural aging of the paint on other panels. While we always use factory specified paint formulas, this slight variation is not in our control. The only way to avoid this is by repainting the entire car. (Which we’re happy to do!)

For more details about paint variations, you can read PPG’s Facts on Bumper Colours by clicking here.

FAQ's

What do I need to do now?

The first step to making your vehicle repair process feel like a breeze is by coming in to inspect your car with an LSR estimator. This usually takes about 20 minutes.

Our main goal is having you leave this inspection feeling clear about what areas of the car will be repaired. We will talk you through everything we find including accident-related and pre-existing damage.

What happens if I don’t come in for my vehicle inspection?

Customers who do not visit LSR to inspect their towed in car within 5 business days will not be able to request that pre-existing damage is fixed at the same time as their vehicle repair.

In addition, customers will not hold LSR liable for any additional damage that may or may not be present prior to the car being worked on by LSR.

Will you fix my pre-existing damage?

Because most customers like to get all of their panel work done at one time, we are more than happy to fix pre-existing damage at your vehicle’s repair. Unfortunately, this is not covered by insurers and will come at a personal cost.

What do I need to do before my repair?

In order to make your repair go quickly and smoothly, we need you to action our pre-repair checklist while at your inspection. (Don’t worry – there are only two things!)

1. Remove All Personal Items

We’re talking car seats, booster seats, pet restraints, backpacks, boxes, toolboxes, and whatever else makes your car feel like home. If you have a lot of stuff, we recommend bringing a friend or relative in case it doesn’t fit in a taxi. If you’re filing for a cash settlement, this is your only chance to retrieve the valuables you’re claiming on.

A note on car seats: Speak to your insurance firm about any car seats or child restraints that were in your vehicle at the time of the accident.

2. Turn Off After Market Devices

This includes in-car cameras, dash cams and ignition interlock devices.

If your car has an ignition interlock device and/or breathalyser, it will need to be safely and legally disabled before we can properly do the repair.
